Welcome to Droylsden Juniors Football Club
Alan Bradbury MBE, a true hero, and certainly a true friend.
He was one of those people who knew absolutely everybody and everybody knew him too, the stories you hear and the stories he told truly make you feel privileged to have had the chance to work with such a remarkable man.
Alan established Droylsden Youth Centre in 1963 and then Droylsden Juniors Football club was built as a prefabricated building. We have grown over many years and now have approximately 500 players (and many more enquiries from children and parents asking if and how they can join the club) we have 100 FA qualified coaches and 50 football teams and our own soccer school where new young teams are formed every season.
Before his passing, he started working on a new project which was to build a full size 3G all weather pitch, which would offer so many benefits for players and teams training at the club. His hard work will hopefully be completed in 2027 which means he will still be touching the lives of many young people and help with the development of their grassroots football. He would want everybody to reach their full potential. Lets just hope that he is looking down on us… our boss. Please read our Club Handbook for more details of Alan’s vision and legacy.
