In 2004/05 our club received the FA Charter Standard for junior soccer clubs, in 2006/07 we received the development club award and in 2007/08 we reached the ultimate goal of attaining the club Community award. (Community award is the benchmark of excellence in junior soccer). And in 2009 we amalgamated with Droylsden amateurs which allows progression for our older players into adult football.

Droylsden Juniors FC have undertaken the directive from the FA to bring our club into the new millennium, by ensuring that all of our coaches are FA approved, and must attain their level 1 coaching badge before managing a team.

All the staff are trained in first aid and child protection. They are encouraged to be positive when dealing with Children both in and out of sport. The concept is to bring a better level of coaching to the grassroots of soccer from which all children will benefit; we aim to introduce the kids into soccer in a positive way with fun, safety and enjoyment top of our agenda.

Good equipment, good facilities, and qualified coaches – with the skills to teach young players is our promise to you. At present, the club has 70 coaches all with level 1 qualifications and a great number of these are progressing towards levels 2 & 3.

Our head coach, Simon Hall, also coaches with Manchester City’s youth academy. One of Simon’s jobs as head coach is to maintain the high standards set down by the FA and to ensure that all the coaching staff keep their sessions fun, interesting & safe.

John Watson and Jimmy Jacob are our Technical coach and Development Officers; together they ensure that our level 1 coaches are up to speed with new and varied training methods, together with player development and growth.
